CONNECT PSYCHOLOGY
Educational Psychology Service
using applied psychology to support children, young people and families
Our services
Bespoke support with a focus on wellbeing
We offer bespoke packages to meet the needs of your setting or organisation. We start with a consultation, discussing your specific needs, the services we can offer and our respective roles and responsibilities.
We support staff and the wellbeing of staff, children and families through consultation, staff sharing, teacher supervision and teacher drop in-services. We offer coaching services and Multi-Family Groups.
Our approach
We aim to build capacity within the organisation we are working with. Every piece of work will involve specific planning for generalisation and building capacity within your setting or organisation.
We use a problem solving framework in order to make and explore hypotheses. These allow us to identify strengths and areas of need and inform intervention.
We measure impact using an approach called Target Monitoring Evaluation (TME) to collect data on outcomes. Working in this way allows both the service and settings/organisations we work with to produce information on impact over time.
Evidence based practice
We use evidence from research together with collective experience about what works to intervene early and work preventatively.
Our experience tells us that working with systems allows us to have the greatest impact on practice, and, therefore, on a larger number of children and young people. This may include building capacity through training teachers and support staff in evidence based interventions.
WHO WE ARE
Connect Psychology
We are experienced and highly qualified educational psychologists who have worked together within an inner city local authority for many years.
We are committed to inclusive practice and equality of opportunity and outcome for all. We have common values, a complementary set of skills and a wide range of experience in different settings.
We believe that operating outside a local authority allows us to be more flexible and responsive. We are aware both of the financial constraints many schools now face and the need for schools to demonstrate the impact of what they do. We have considerable experience of working with school and family systems, providing senior leadership support and development, and working with specialist provisions particularly for autistic children and young people.
We are HCP registered, enhanced DBS checked and supervised psychologists.
